Inline Noise Filter
amp is picking up engine noise, tried noise filter, what else?
i have two 10" subs in the trunk hooked up to a pyramid 240 amp, i had them in my other car, and they worked great, but now im wiring them up in this car and the amp is picking up engine noise, i had a filter on the power line of my other car(old car, custom install, running power line with inline fuse from battery to switch to filter to deck) so i tried that, had an extra thing i bought before that gives you a wire from an open fuse spot, hooked it up, worked fine with car off, turned it on and it was really crappy, then put in the filter, no difference, figured maybe the line to the cd player(the one that is only on when the key is on) would be a reasonable one to tap into since it wasnt getting any interference with the car on, but still the same issue, turning the amp down doesnt do anything, what do i need to do to make it stop making this noise? thanks
sounds like you have a bad ground.. try cleaning up the spot or relocating your ground wire from your amp... if that doesnt work try a ground loop isolator on your RCA cables.. make sure your power wires and your RCA's are run on opposite sides of the car.
