Modem Router Combo
Can I use my old router to connect wirelessly with my Fios modem/router?
I just got Verizon Fios, and I'm wondering if I can use my old router to wirelessly connect with the new Verizon Modem/Router combo so I can get internet in my entertainment room.
I don't want to go buy a ton of ethernet cord and I'm not looking to spend any more money buying a Wireless Bridge.
My old router is a D-Link WBR-2310
THANKS!
If I can do it wired, where do I plug the cable from the Fios modem/router into the d-link router?
Do I put it in a regular LAN port or the WLAN port? I tried both and they don't seem to worth either way.
I disabled DHCP in my d-link router and I'm now able to connect to the internet on my PC. I plugged a cable that was in a LAN port on my fios modem/router into a LAN port on my D-Link router then plugged my PC into the D-Link modem.
My only problem is that when I plug in my Xbox 360, It won't connect(It will though if I just plug it right into my Fios modem/router).
Thanks.
Wirelessly, don't know how to do that.
Mine came with the ActionTec black box of doom router with 50 connections or less, so torrents were kind of useless on that piece of junk. Otherwise, it's a nice router. I had to hook it into the old FiOS router (D-Link 624) through ethernet cable and put the internet connection into the D-Link from the ActionTec.
I'll have to watch your question to see if I can do all of this wirelessly. That would be a huge help.
