Fiber optic 3CSFP91 SFP problem?
I'm connecting a multimode 62.5/125 (270M) AMP fiber backbone via 2 unit 3com 3CSFP91 SFP to a 3Com 2848-SFP switch and a 3Com 2226 Plus switches. It didn't work(can't ping each switch).
I've tried the same connection with D-Link 1000TX(RJ45) to 1000SX converter both end and 100TX(RJ45) to 100FX converter both end which both works flawlessly.
Some say the range is too far as 3CSFP91 range is rated at 220M which also the other 1000SX and 100FX converter that worked.
Do I need to configure the 3Com switches to use the SFP? Like enable flow control etc.? I thought the SFP ports should be auto. The 3Com discovery software shows 1000M connection enable with the SFP is inserted.
I thought the SFP module is suppose to make life easier which I've most probably missed judged.

Can you swap the fibers in one end of the SFP jumper? If you are not getting link LEDs at both ends, I can only guess you have the TX from one end connecting to the TX in the other end (and RX connecting to RX).
