i really need to know what the max amount of users is and what the max range is

Range is VERY variable, it depends entirely on the local conditions. Pre-N equipment is better at handling interference, reflections, unfriendly building materials, filing cabinets, fridges, toaster ovens and people wearing offensive ties, but the figures given on the box are usually quoted for perfect conditions only...
