What would happen if I put a PCI card into my Dell Dimension 2400?
I would really like to put a PCI video card into my Dell Dimension 2400. The thing is, is that it has an integrated video card. The card is an Integrated Intel Extreme graphics and it barely lives up to its name. All I want to do is play a pc game in a decent manner.
This pc lacks an AGP and PCI-e slot. I would just like to know what would happen. Would the pc screw up and won't be fully functional anymore?
The processor is a Intel Celeron 2.4 GHz processor, 400Mhz FSB. Does that make a difference as well?
I just want some help before I make a huge mistake and get a PCI card just to have my PC go retarded on me.

Sorry my processor is 2.34 GHz not 400MHz
there's no problem w/ putting another video card in there, but you will need to get into your BIOS (either hit F2 or F10) when you're booting up AFTER you put the new card in, and disable the onboard video....(change it from AGP to PCI)
you'll also notice a little performance boost once you disable the onboard video, since you'll get the RAM back (32mb, 64mb?) that the onboard was using.
