How do I setup a LAN / Ethernet connection (see details)?
I'm not sure but I have 1 computer and I have an ethernet card installed
(SiS 900-Based PCI Fast Ethernet Adaptor)
but when I connect it it says that I have a network cable unplugged but I am capable of Dial-up connection...
What hardware do I need?

Whoa! Hold on there pardners! I'm only 15 and I am only a semi-geek...
I don't know if I have a modem or a router.....
all i know is I have a CPU, Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard and all the other basic hardware...
maybe I have an internal modem and if so where do I connect the ethernet cable?!?!

First off, do you have a router and/or modem?
If you're just setting up one computer, then I would guess you just have the modem, so for that you would connect a regular telephone cable from the telephone jack to the modem, and an RJ45 Ethernet cable from the modem to your computer (SiS 900-Based PCI Fast Ethernet Adaptor).
If you have a router, then the setup would be the same except that the Ethernet cable would plug from your modem to your router, and a second Ethernet cable would go from the router to your computer (SiS 900-Based PCI Fast Ethernet Adaptor).
